Top Five Drivers 2017

The Top Five Drivers For 2017

The golf season is just around the corner and maybe you’ve been thinking about purchasing a new driver to show off on the course this year. We all want to hit the ball with better distance, speed and performance. With the new innovations in golf equipment technology, this is entirely possible.

From watching Jason Day, Dustin Johnson and Rory Mcllroy rip it off the tee, to seeing Jamie Sadlowski drive it 380 yards on the regular, distance matters.

With so many options on the market, we decided to narrow it down to the best five drivers.

  1. Taylormade M1

Clubs come and go in Dustin Johnson’s bag with a fair amount of frequency, but he has a special love for his Taylormade M1 driver. In fact, he won the Genesis Open and WGC-Mexico Championship this year using this driver (way to go DJ!)

The new M1 driver has completely re-vamped its technology to deliver distance, forgiveness and complete personalization.

The M1 uses 43 percent more carbon fiber than its predecessor, which really helps with creating a higher launch angle. The design is sleek, slim and more forgiving than its predecessor. It also has a new aluminum loft sleeve and an active speed pocket, causing drives to fly with excessive spin.

2. Cobra King F7

Cobra King F7

Cobra Golf has introduced its longest and smartest driver – the KING F7 – continuing to expand the collection of clubs under the legendary KING brand name. The F7 provides golfers with delivering playable distance and unmatched feel with extreme forgiveness.

In fact, PGA Tour professional Rickie Fowler recently won the Honda Classic with the F7+. It is also used by Lexi Thompson, Jonas Blixt, Jesper Parnevik and World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman.

The F7 driver features a re-engineered face that is lighter and thinner allowing for faster ball speeds. It also has an adjustable weight system and allows for three differing ball flights – low, high and draw, to provide golfers with optimum distance for a variety of conditions. The heavier 12g weight creates a lower, penetrating ball flight with less spin and more roll for maximum distance.

3. Callaway Great Big Bertha Epic

The Epic is the first driver to have titanium bars inside the clubhead connecting the crown and the sole to reduce the amount of deflection at impact. Callaway’s innovative “Jailbreak Technology” and Exo-Cage carbon construction gives golfers of any handicap better overall power and improved performance.

Callaway offers a choice four stock shafts in four different weight categories and comes with a choice of basic lofts–9 degrees, 10.5 degrees and a HT model of 13.5 degrees.

Put the Great Big Bertha Epic on your short list. It’s a premium driver that stands out in comparison with others in its class for it’s new look, feel and most importantly forgiveness.

4. Ping G

The PING G driver is faster than the G30 and has a bit more forgiveness.

The newest thing about this driver is its Dragonfly Technology.  The structure of the crown is designed to mirror a dragonfly’s wings. The benefit is that the crown is sturdy but lighter and thinner than its predecessors.

The Vortec Technology designed into the rear of the clubhead combines with PING’s “turbulators” on the crown to lower drag on the downswing allowing for greater clubhead speed and therefore ball speed and distance.

Here is the breakdown of the two drivers:
